DESCRIPTION
Machinery eye bolts are used primarily as the connection point on a load to be lifted for slings to attach. Crosby S-279 Machinery Eye Bolts are made of forged steel. The Quench and Tempered heat-treating process used for all Crosby eye bolts assures the performance of each eye bolt and provides improved strength, ductility and fatigue properties. These eye bolts are fatigue rated at 1-1/2 times the Working Load Limit at 20,000 cycles. S-279 Machinery Eye Bolts are recommended for in-line pull and Working Load Limits are shown for in-line pull. For angular loading, you must consult the information provided on the packaging or on the Crosby web site. Eye bolts will lose significant capacity when subjected to angular loading, and only eye bolts with shoulders can be subjected to angular loading. Crosby S-279 Machinery Eye Bolts meet or exceed all requirements of ASME B30.26 including identification, ductility, design factor, proof load and temperature requirements. Importantly, these eye bolts meet other critical performance requirements including fatigue life, impact properties and material traceability not addressed by ASME B30.26. All S-279 Machinery Eye Bolts have UNC threads.
