Crosby HG228 5/8X12 Jaw & Jaw Turnbuckle
Crosby HG228 Jaw & Jaw Turnbuckles are ideal for many applications, including guy wires on communication towers, keeping static lines tight (such as handrails) and lashing applications that use wire rope to bind a stationary load. HG228 Turnbuckle End fittings are Quenched and Tempered or Normalized, and turnbuckle bodies are heat treated by normalizing. All components are Hot Dip galvanized (smallest sizes are mechanically galvanized). Turnbuckle jaws are closed die forged, and jaw ends are fitted with bolts and nuts for 1/4” through 5/8”, and pins and cotters on 3/4” through 2-3/4” size. Modified UNJ threads on the end fittings provide improved fatigue properties. Turnbuckle bodies have UNC threads. HG228 Turnbuckles are fatigue rated to 20,000 cycles at 1-1/2 times the Working Load Limit. NOTE THAT TURNBUCKLES ARE RECOMMENDED FOR STRAIGHT OR IN-LINE PULL ONLY. Lock Nuts are available for all sizes. HG228 Turnbuckles meet or exceed all requirements of ASME B30.26 including identification, ductility, design factor, proof load and temperature requirements. Importantly, these turnbuckles meet other critical performance requirements including fatigue life, impact properties and material traceability, not addressed by ASME B30.26. HG228 Turnbuckles also meet the performance requirements of Federal Specifications FF-T-791b, Type 1 Form 1 - CLASS 7, and ASTM F-1145, except for those provisions required of the contractor. Made in the U.S.A.
